Have you ever been on a FaceTime call on your phone or Mac and that audio is just terrible? Turns out there's a hidden feature that will actually improve your calls if you know where to look!

Thanks to an article by The Verge, people are just discovering Apple's hidden "Voice Isolation" feature that works on most iPhones, iPads, and Macs that are a few years old and are running the current iOS.

It’s weirdly hard to find, and you can only access the setting when you’re already in a call, but the feature will actually isolate your voice from whatever background noise is going on in your home, office, or outside.

Here's how you turn it on during a FaceTime call:

  1. Swipe down from the upper-right corner (or click in the upper-right corner on a Mac) to get to the Control Center
  2. Tap on the button that says “Mic Mode.” By default, it’s set to Standard, but there are two other options: Voice Isolation and Wide Spectrum.
  3. Click on Voice Isolation and then your phone will try to isolate your voice from any background noise.

Now this obviously won't help your parents or grandparents learn how to successfully look into the camera when FaceTiming you, but at least you can help them hear your more clearly even if you're at a concert or on the metro!
