Carly Pearce set her cheating ex’s truck ablaze in the fiery new music video that premiered on Monday (October 14). The “truck on fire” visual, directed by Alexa Campbell, opens in a small town. Law enforcement officers hold up a “WANTED” flyer as they question an employee at a small gas station and convenience store, who denies seeing the woman whose picture appears on the flyer.

Officers inform the employee that “the county just put out a warrant for her arrest, and (the) last place she was seen was here, buying everything she needed.” they proceed to investigate as the video flashes to a scene that took place eight hours earlier. Pearce is seen concealing her appearance as she drives in a vintage red Mustang to the convenience store to purchase a few items, including the “small red can.” Pearce then brings the can to her ex’s truck and ditches her disguise as she gets her revenge.

“No one wants to be cheated on, but everyone wants to seek revenge,” Pearce said in a statement via her record label of “truck on fire.” “I wrote this song for every girl who has gone through a similar situation and dreams of wreaking havoc on her ex.

“Truck on fire’ was actually an idea that Charles Kelley from Lady A had, and I was brought into the write,” Pearce said in a recent interview with iHeartCountry. She teamed up with Kelley and Justin Ebach to bring “truck on fire” to life. “It was just so fun to get to write a girl anthem that I feel like all of us can kind of be a little crazy at times, and have fantasies of wanting to burn down things that maybe our exes deserve to have burnt down.”

Pearce’s “truck on fire” music video is her latest since she won in the Collaborative Video of the Year category at the 2024 CMT Music Awards earlier this year. She won for “we don’t fight anymore,” featuring Chris Stapleton, another track that appears on her fourth studio record, hummingbird. Pearce released her highly-anticipated album in June. The project, which she co-produced, also includes “country music made me do it,” “rock paper scissors,” “my place,” “woman to woman,” “fault line” and more. Pearce's “truck on fire” music video arrives shortly after she kicked off her first-ever global headlining tour. See the “hummingbird tour” dates here. Watch the new “truck on fire” video below.
