Gretchen Wilson Kicked Out Of New Mexico Hotel After Employees Call 911

Gretchen Wilson's late-night noise at a hotel in Las Cruces, New Mexico led to a visit from the police early Sunday morning (October 13). The country star is now calling for a boycott of Hotel Encanto, after she claims they kicked her out.

KVIA-TV reports that an employee at the hotel called 911 on Wilson around 3:30AM on Sunday morning due to her lack of compliance following multiple noice complaints.

"We went up there multiple times in the past half hour," the employee said in the 911 audio. "So, then I went up there and she said that she was a celebrity, but I forgot her name. Apparently, Gretchen something. She just played in the Country Music Festival."

On Saturday night (October 12) Wilson had played the Las Cruces Country Music Festival which she claims to have had a "blast w/ the people there" in a tweet she shared following the show.

"However, you should all band together to put Hotel Encanto out of business," she adds to the tweet claiming that "they sent police to kick me out in the middle of the night for no reason."

A spokesman for the police department, Dan Trujillo, said that she and "her entourage" left the hotel early voluntarily. In Wilson's tweet she notes that she "complied" with the officers during the process.

Wilson says she got off stage at 11: 30 p.m. and by 12:30 p.m. she was "only talking" in her room. However, on the contrary, the hotel employee said Wilson was "being super loud" and when asked to quiet down, supposedly responded with, "I paid for the room- I could care less what people think."

"The hotel informed me that QUIET HOURS started at 10PM," Wilson says adding, "Wrong hotel for 3rd shifters."

This isn't Wilson's first time dealing with police. In August of 2018, the country singer was involved in a "minor disturbance" on a flight landing at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut on August 21. She reportedly "became belligerent towards the troopers and caused a disturbance," prompting the police to take her into custody.

Wilson was ultimately charged with breach of peace, though in September of 2018, the charge was dismissed after the singer agreed to donate $500 to a charity for injured crime victims.

Wilson is best known for her 2004 hit song "Redneck Woman."
