Where To Celebrate National Coffee Day In Wichita

National Coffee Day, is Friday. 29. In honor of the beloved caffeine-infused drink, several of Wichita’s most cherished coffee shops spill their secrets and share details about what they have planned for this year’s day to appreciate coffee.

College Hill Creamery is welcoming Pierre Oltean of Café Indigo, which sources directly from farmers in the Boquete region of Panama. Oltean is a respected roaster, and College Hill Creamery is supporting his efforts on National Coffee Day. The shop will have bottomless “Black Hole," its house coffee, and a caramel praline latte with real bits of pecans and a homemade creamed caramel. Lattes will be $3 for a 12-oz. mug. Customers can also get Nitro Joe’s Cold Brew on tap, Reverie Espresso and two great Thanksgiving flavors from California.

A welcoming coffeeshop on the west side of Wichita, Ecclesia Coffee focuses on creating community while drinking a cup of quality, hand-crafted coffee. This shop prides itself in its ethically-purchased and direct trade coffee. Plus, you and a friend will love sitting together in the comfortable and stylish bathtub lounge chairs. For Coffee Day, all coffee will be 20 percent, and they’ll be awarding double punches for those with loyalty cards.

For the night owls or the early-risers, The Donut Whole has coffee nearly any time a craving kicks up. Open from 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. the next day, there are endless options of cake donuts and coffee pairings. Along with signature blends like the smooth, bold and espresso coffees, The Donut Whole works in cooperation with The Spice Merchant, a local coffee roaster for exclusive flavors. This national coffee day, expect to get a free coffee with every dozen donuts purchased.

Mead’s Corner Coffeehouse houses Kansas-roasted coffee and espresso drinks, and gives customers the option of purchasing delicious gelato, breakfast sandwiches, salads and Panini’s for lunch. On National Coffee Day this year, they will be offering $1 12-oz. coffee all day long, and three new pumpkin flavors plus pumpkin spice gelato, which they will sell through the season.

A hidden gem in the quaint Riverside community, R Coffee House serves delicious coffee concoctions, including its candy bar-flavored cappuccinos and espressos. The shop is also known for encouraging creativity through art and performance, often holding live music sessions and unique menu options. Reverie Coffee Roasters freshly roasts its coffee twice a week, carefully crafting it to achieve a balance of sweetness and original coffee flavoring. Reverie Roasters stays ahead of the coffee game with constant research on roasting, water filtration and brewing methods. The coffee hotspot has several events planned for National Coffee Day, including a buy one, get one batch or cold brew coffee between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., Lolo’s Crepes from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Little Lion Ice Cream from 5 to 8 p.m. Plus, National Coffee Day happens on Final Friday, so the shop will also showcase its own coffee gallery with photos taken by one of the employees.
