Cody Johnson is set to headline at Hartman Arena on Friday, January 11th at 7:30 with special guest, Texas newcomer, Randall King.

In the last few years, Texas native, Cody Johnson, caught the attention of Nashville music executives with the release of two top 10 albums and accumulating 300 million on-demand streams. This success resulted in the recent signing of a record deal with Warner Music Nashville. His first WMN album, Ain’t Nothin to It, is scheduled for release on January 18th, 2019. The first single, “On My Way to You”, has been released to radio and is currently at #34 on the country music charts.

About Cody

When Cody Johnson's Cowboy Like Me debuted in the Top 10 on the Billboard Country Albums chart in January 2014, jaws dropped in offices all over Nashville.

"I got a lot of ‘Who is this kid?'" Johnson says with a laugh two years later. "I love that. That was a new horizon. And I'm gonna work to make sure people know exactly who I am."

Johnson does that from the start in Gotta Be Me, a follow-up project that's loaded with solid country instrumentation and winsome melodies. In the first minute alone, he paints himself as a cowboy -- raised on outlaw country -- who drinks too much, fights too much and won't apologize for having an opinion. By the time the 14-track journey is over, he's shared his rodeo history in "The Only One I Know (Cowboy Life)," demonstrated his woman's influence in "With You I Am" and paid homage to his gospel heritage in "I Can't Even Walk."

Johnson delivers it all with an uncanny confidence. His smoky baritone and ultra-Southern enunciation give him a voice as uniquely identifiable as country kingpins Jason Aldean or Tim McGraw. And he uses it to convey a Texas-proud swagger, a real-man charm and an unwavering honesty about who he is, where he comes from and where he hopes to go.

ABOUT TRACY

Throughout the 90’s, Tracy turned out a string of country hits including “Watermelon Crawl” and the 1995 Academy of Country Music’s “Song of the Year” and #1 single, “Keeper of the Stars”. Crowd favorites and smash hits, such as, “Love Lesson”, “I’m From the Country”, “A Good Way to Get on My Bad Side”, and “10 Rounds with Jose Cuervo” have filled, not one, but two Greatest Hits albums and led to 6 Million Records Sold.

Through all these years Byrd became a promoter favorite on the road, performing over 4000 exciting shows across the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Australia from 1992 until 2009! He then says he needed a break to take care of himself and his most precious thing, his family, wife Michelle, daughter Evee, and son's Logan and Jared, who had taken a back seat to his career for years. He did not perform from 2010-2013, but in 2014 he got back to the music with a new band and a new-found sobriety and love of the thing he enjoys so much. Say's Byrd, "These days my life has great balance, with my music being a part of it, not all of it. I can honestly say I have never enjoyed it more!"

Byrd went back in the studio in June of 2016 and started work on his first project in 10 years. Recorded completely in Tyler, Texas at Rosewood Studios, that album is appropriately titled, All American Texan, which is exactly what he is and has always been. This album features 8 tracks written by Byrd, a fact he is very proud of. The album was released in October of 2016 and has been very well received by his fans and critics alike.

About Randall

King was raised listening to the rich and soulful, classic country voices of Keith Whitley, George Strait and Alan Jackson, to name a few, which helped create King’s musical style into what many have described as neo-traditional country. “Randall King remains to the heart and soul of country music, but no doubt brings his own unique brand to the genre,” says hit songwriter Mark Nesler (co-writer of “Just To See You Smile” by Tim McGraw, “You Look Good In My Shirt” by Keith Urban).

With a sound rooted in tradition and songwriting that showcases honesty, conviction and authenticity, King connects with fans on all emotional levels. “Randall King has a great voice that sounds classic, yet is fresh and as a songwriter he actually has something to say – be it something that touches your heart or something simple and fun that makes you wanna get out and raise some hell.” said multi-award-winning and critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Anthony Smith (co-writer of “Run” & “Cowboys Like Us” by George Strait).
